Centro Mater is looking for funding to subsidize its 10-weeks Summer Camp program, predominately focused on children 4 to 12 years of age. The type of population that Centro Mater provides services to is predominantly composed of low-income Hispanic immigrants; mostly recently arrived to the country and unable to obtain subsidized childcare due to their immigration status. Since most of the parents work in construction and on the service sector, they need to secure the care of the children during the summer.
Centro Mater Child Care Services is a non-profit organization that strives to aid economically disadvantaged families by providing child care, educational and social services. With 5 accredited centers in Miami-Dade County, Centro Mater caters to children 6 weeks to 12 years of age in its efforts to help youths prosper and their parents, and/or guardians become financially independent.
